03. Parachute
04. Fight For This Love
05. Don't Talk About This Love
06. Make Me Cry

Song and Dance
I just thought I'd share two youtube videos.
Paramore did a pretty amazing cover of "use somebody", originally sung by kings of leon. hailey's voice is amazing and she shows more tenderness and control in this exhibition for a radio station.
thanks cielo, for sharing this with me earlier.
----------------------
the next video is an amazing example of the globalization of hip hop dancing. There are 2 young boys in Japan that really work it out on stage! they also show off different styles of hip hop dance and tie it all together in one sick video. wow!

i heart Cheryl Cole
Cheryl Cole(formerly Cheryl Tweedy before marrying footballer Ashley Cole in July 2006) and current "It Girl" of the moment in UK, is 1/5 of Girls Aloud, is one of the judges on the X-Factor, and earlier of this year and along with other UK celebrities, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro for RED NOSE DAY/Comic Relief (UK charity). Women want to be like her and men want to be with her. but those mentioned titles did not stop there. Several months ago, FHM(UK) magazine named the X-Factor judging, pop singing sensation Cheryl Cole as the World's Sexiest Woman of 2009 (beating out Megan Fox). And to top it off, L'Oreal has picked her to be the new face/covergirl for UK.
After having toured with Girls Aloud on the "Out Of Control Tour" for several months, Cheryl, along with the other girls, decided to take a break from their pop group to pursue solo projects: Cheryl Cole with music, Kimberley Walsh with musical theater, Sarah Harding with more acting/shooting movies this year, Nicola Roberts with school to brush up on her beauty skills(she currently has a make-up line called Dainty Dolly), and Nadine Coyle with also music.
This past summer, Cheryl has been back and forth with producers from U.S. to U.K. to work with people like Will.I.Am, Taio Cruz, Frankmusic, and Xenomaina on her forthcoming solo album "Three Words." And just recenly (8am, Sept. 7), her very first solo single "Fight For This Love" aired on BBC Radio 1. I must admit, the song is something that you would not label as "Girls Aloud" material. Her solo music seems to be more R&B-pop, and by far, a great genre for her.
Whether you like her current single or not, Cheryl's "Fight For This Love" is something new and different from her usual Girls Aloud pop-style music. and I can't wait to hear the rest of her album (which according to her official website, comes out October 26th!)
Here's her current single "Fight For This Love"; listen and Enjoy!

When it comes to Megan Fox, you either like her, love her or hate her. But I must admit, she is quite funny. When I saw this on youtube with the title "Megan Fox PSA," I immediate thought "wtf?!" lol.

I heart Diablo Cody's "Jennifer's Body"
Diablo Cody's Juno left me wondering about her next film Jennifer's Body, starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, and Adam Brody. The film's synopsis is about a cheerleader who becomes possessed, and turns into a demonic-like killer that focuses on taking out her male classmates. I am personally interested in this film because I am such a fan of Diablo Cody's work, especially with her television show The United States of Tara. Jennifer's Body carries a similar dialogue much like Juno had; with its fun, quirky and sometimes awkward lines. I read the screenplay about a day ago and I thought it was good. It was a bit gory at times, but come to think of it, this film is a horror film, which is expected.
All in all, though this film may not be another Oscar winning Juno, this movie looks interestingly fun and scary with some comedic lines here and there. It's something different from Cody's work of genre, and it's something I'd watch.

I heart Girls Aloud.
In America, if you were to ask any person "who are Girls Aloud?" they would simply stare at you with no idea. If you were to ask someone in the U.K. the same exact question, you will probably get a better answer familiar to "one of Britain's most successful girl bands today";achieving a string of 20 consecutive Top 10 singles (including four number ones), two number ones albums, and recently won their very first Brit awards (this year) for best single "The Promise." The Girls Aloud consist of Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Cheryl Cole, and Kimberley Walsh (same order in picture).
Despite having formed on the ITV1 talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, these girls have come a long way from reality singing stars to wonderful entertainers. They've proved that they can make hits just like any other artists in the music/entertainment world.
Here's a megamix music video of most of their popular songs:

I heart this year's Academy Awards/Oscars.
I know I'm probably several postings too late, but i felt like sharing today. The Academy Awards/Oscars aired about a week ago and there were plenty of highlights that I enjoyed, and most were of the 8 Oscars that Slumdog Millionaire won (yay!). I thought Hugh Jackman did a good job hosting, especially in the singing and dancing department (*kudos to the rest who joined him as well).
Here are two clips from the Oscars that I thought were quite funny and entertaining:
(*enjoy)
(1) I love Anne Hathaway in this; she was great! (*favorite line: "oh Nixon...")
(2)Once I saw Ben Stiller walk across the stage, I knew that he was going to be hilarious! and i'm glad he was. He did a great job as "Joaquin Phoenix."

"Backstreet's back, alright!!!...." and yes he's back. I'm really glad to see that Nick Carter doesn't look like someone who just parties too much. I guess after his diagnosis of having cardiomyopathy, he really got his shit together, and hot damn! What great results!

SNL - "Angelina Jolie" on Weekend Update
Abby Elliott, new Saturday Night Live cast member, impersonates mother-of-six Angelina Jolie during the “Weekend Update.” I think she did a good job, she's starting to grow on me more. I'm still sad that Amy Poehler left, but at least we still got Kristen Wiig. Anyway, before i forget, here's the SNL video of Abby Elliott being Angelina Jolie (lol, hilarious!)...(*enjoy)

I heart Taken By Cars.
Taken By Cars is an indie rock band and they're great! Their album "Endings of a New Kind" is a must listen! They are a bit of post-modern rock, meshed with Arctic Monkeys-punk sound, with a side of disco-rock/Bloc Party style, and a familiarity of early Shirley Manson (from the band Garbage) vocals. If you are fans of these bands, then you'll like Taken By Cars.
band members are:
Sarah Marco - Vocals
Bryce Zialcita - Guitars
Siopao Chua - Guitars
Benny Yap - Bass
Bryan Kong - Drums/Sampler

i heart Fast & Furious
So there have been other sequels to the original The Fast & The Furious released in 2001, and you might even say that Fast & Furious can technically be called "The Fast & The Furious 4." But other fans of the original consider this upcoming movie a far better sequel to the other two (2 Fast 2 Furious, and The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Dift). To be honest, i always liked the first movie compared to the others. and when i heard Vin Diesel signed up for the 4th movie, and that everyone else from the first movie signed on as well, i became very excited to hear about it. It's really rare for original actors from a first movie to jump onto the band wagon of movie sequels, let alone to come back about eight years later. it just goes to show that these actors are just not for the money or franchise name, but also interested in making their fans happy.
The new Fast & Furious movie gave us a little teaser trailer back in september (pretty much a possible set-up of what the movie may possibly be centered on) and here is the clip:
Here's the newly release 2nd trailer of the same movie (this one has more movie clips)(*enjoy):

i heart Slumdog Millionaire
After its many premieres in different film festivals, I could not help but hear so much about the film. And after a great night at the Golden Globes (the film won 4 awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Script, and Best Score), i finally got a chance to watch it and might i say, it was a great film. It was totally unexpected for myself to even enjoy such a film, but surely i'm glad to be quite surprised. Though the film sets its background on an indian version of "Who wants to be a millionaire," Jamal's story telling of his life's trivial moments showed very much importance in searching for Latika. Through the "slums" of india and Jamal's journey throughout the film, it gave us a love story. And this film is worth your time.
Here's the plot from Fox Searchlights Pictures):
The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show? When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. At the heart of its storytelling lies the question of how anyone comes to know the things they know about life and love.

I heart Scrubs
If I were to describe what kind of show Scrubs is, i would say it is very much like 30 Rock, but has its share of somewhat drama-like themes. Zach Braff and Donald Faison are great at what they do. The comedic randomness is genius!

i heart "Lucky."
Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat sang a song together called "Lucky," and it's pretty amazing. It's the second single off "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" - available now. Colbie is gorgeous in her white dress, and Jason looks pretty good in a suit. I heart both of them separately and together! let's hope for more collaborations between the two =).

I heart Mabanua's "Done Already."
So lately, I've been getting myself back into some Hip-hop, especially some old school hip-hop (i.e. a tribe called quest, notorious B.I.G., common, ll cool j, naughty by nature, tlc, etc.). and once again, i was searching for some new and old hip-hop albums, and I came across Mabanua's "Done Already" cd. If you like Common, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Jurassic 5 and hip-hop Jazz, then you'll like Mabanua.
Here's a snippet from his website (http://www.mabanua.com):
Mabanua was influenced by the sound of the 90’s hip hop group such as “Arrested Development” and the music of the 60’s and 70’s legends. He wanted to emulate the groove of black music he listened to as a child. He begun collaborating with a number of bands as a drummer at prominent music clubs in Tokyo. His technical and expressive skills came to full maturity during this period. Simulataneously, mabanua started to work on his own track using Akai MPCs. Since 2006 he was a member of a jazz-hip-hop group “Ovall”. It is a band of four musicians: their music is a unique mixture of sampling and live sound. Mabanua’s contribution as drummer consists of a characteristic, profound beat. His sensibility as a percussionist is also his strength in track making. His sound originates from a personal vision and although the basis of his music is hip hop, the ultimate goal is to create unique sound transcending any genre.
“mabanua” is a made-up word, an anagram of his real name. His first album will be release in October 8th,2008.
What makes Mabanua's cd unique is his jazzy hip-hop instrumental breaks between tracks, and his reminiscent sounds of early old school hip-hop. If you were to fuse Common, Erykah Badu, The Roots, and Jurassic 5 into one band, then you would have Mabanua. You guys should definitely check him out.
Here's a random video of Mabanua making a beat (*enjoy):

i heart Eagles of Death Metal
i fell upon this band by accident, and I'm glad i did. If you like Queens of the Stoneage, you'll like Eagles of Death Metal (by no means a death metal band). They're worth listening to! They've made about three albums in the past:
* Peace, Love, Death Metal (2004)
* Death by Sexy (2006)
* Heart On (2008).
They also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live about a month ago, and here they are (*enjoy):
